This spring we went back to Butlins!
After the success of last years experimental trip, we decided to go back, this time with the whole family, including Noah's two cousins, and it was just as much of a success.
I was surprised to notice how much Noah remembered, dragging us to his favourite rides in the funfair and settling back into the Butlins routine with ease. I could see he was enjoying himself and that was all I wanted! This year, I even got him on the bungee trampoline and was so touched when the man running it instantly spotted his differences and made allowances for us, like letting my husband get him into the harness and then spending a full 10 minutes pinging the rope for Noah to make him bounce higher than he could manage himself. He was in heaven, and the poor man's arm must have been killing him!
He loved having his cousins around in the chalet at the end of each day, looking over their shoulders while they played on their tablets, and even shared a bedroom with them without any issues at all! I was completely surprised, no midnight wake up calls, no tears and no issues going to sleep, which was probably my biggest concern. Instead, he padded across the hall and into bed with us around 6am every morning and snuggled down whilst he waited for breakfast.
It has fast become our favourite budget & SEN friendly family holiday, and we will definitely be going back again in the future, so, here's my yearly recommendation for a trip down to Bognor! Get down there!
